After the update to iOS 18, the software does not work. The files will not export any longer and the software “locked up”. I contacted the software developer and he is aware of the problem, but is unable to state when, OR IF, a proper fix is available. (See their FB page for the comments) I DO NOT recommend this until it is compatible with iOS 18 and the developer can address known issues in a timely manner.
App works, but can’t save to Photos
Awesome application appears to work but does not save output to photo album. :(
Just purchased the app! Supporting compatriot developers 👍👍👍 Very excited for the vertical orientation feature 😌
I went thru the YouTube tutorial and I felt immediately I wanted to support this developer. Some garbage apps want a WEEKLY fee and I immediately de-install those. For what this app does - I wish I could support them more. I will use this app for some upcoming plans to Timelapse various things and post the results on social media. Thank you for not insulting your end users by ripping us off. I’d like to find another way to show my support, if that’s available. Best regards
Still a better experience than any of the other time lapse apps. Highly configurable and easy to make changes to the output video. Concerning that the last update was for iOS 13 though.
App is not good. Unable to use it even after paying for full version. I screen is frozen when I open the app..
Great app, all necessary options for Timelapse. Just one question. Why the shutter speed is limited to 1 sec.?
Skyflow is an excellent time lapse video app which I've been using for several years on my previous iPhones & currently on my iPhone 14 Pro (which Skyflow fully supports). Skyflow has a wide variety of features but is also straightforward enough for new users. Many other time lapse video apps require the user to export all the still photos to another app to combine them into a video but Skyflow very conveniently does that within the app & then exports the resulting time lapse video, one option of which is to the Photos app. One particularly helpful feature is the optional on-screen horizontal level which I was very pleased to recently discover will also work just fine when making a vertical time lapse video. Skyflow is an excellent time lapse video that I definitely recommend. Request to developer: it would be great if you could extend Skyflow's user interface to make it easier to select the various shooting parameters prior to making a vertical time lapse video.
I love this app.
There is a lot to love about this app! It has fine grained controls over the capture, a well designed camera interface, and a one time purchase model (at a great price I will add) I would love to see some updates just to be sure it’s maintained for newer phones, and also a vertical mode for the interface would be a nice touch.
My one problem with this app is that it won’t geotag time lapses, even though I have location services turned on for this app and the geotagging setting enabled. Other than that, it’s a real good app and I highly recommend paying the $3 for the full features! Update 12/22/23: I have found that when you save individual frames, that the frames are geotagged. But if you try to save the whole time lapse (even with location services turned on), it isn’t geotagged.
List of pros would be just too long to post here, but as a many years timelapse enthusiast I’d say this app has _every_ feature you could ever wish for on a mobile phone: 4K jpegs, a lot of custom controls, preview playback _while_ shooting - everything you need. 2 more features I’d like to see: - manual focus control: for plant photography it’s quite hard to focus on a tiny dot, manual thingy is needed here. - settings presets: I’d like to save and load presets of exposure/shutter/focus settings.
This would be the perfect time lapse app if only it saved geo location data and preserved timestamps for the video itself in addition to the exif data inside individual frames. Right now, for example, Apple photos doesn’t show location and time data for the exported video file.
When I try to use the back camera (camera facing in opposite direction of the screen), the app freezes and doesn't allow me to take video until I switch to the front camera. Kind of ruins the entire app when thats the main idea of it.
Deleted. I don't use apps that force the user into holding their device a certain way. That is my decision not the app designers. Sorry. Looked like a good app otherwise.
I gladly paid $2.99 to upgrade. The quality of tools is just what I needed in my amateur photography. Thanks
I use this to supplement all night sleep studies. Very easy to adjust for my specific needs. Lots of resolution options to keep file size under control. Completely silent all night. I set it up for 1 fps @1080p. Last nights video had a file size of 13.88gb for 9hrs and 23 min of shooting. Playback speed and location in the video can be adjusted with a finger swipe while watching which makes it easier to find discrepancies in the sleep study. I don’t use all features so I have no other comments. Oh and compared to the other free Timelapse apps I tried this one produced the brightest image. Which is a big deal for my application. It would be helpful if there was a faster way to edit out large portions of the file though. I need to eliminate 20 to 25 thousand frames when finished.
was wondering if you could recover deleted clips though?
For the low price of 3 dollars you get an add free, high quality, and enjoyable experience.
It’s great at taking Timelapse so I highly recommend it but I give it 4/5 stars because of its file handling system. This app can generate both huge video files and thousands of raw image files so the inconsistency of the file handling interface and the inability of its image to be handled in the iOS Storage app make it hard to work with. A popup that says “Where are my files?” leads to an Apple website explanation of the iCloud but sometimes files are kept internally, sometimes on the phone’s iCloud account, and sometimes on the camera roll, so the “Where are my files?” popup should say where the software actually sent it. A tutorial or documentation on how to adjust thousands of Raw files in post would be helpful for using that feature. Again: 5 stars for the time lapse feature and it handles day to night sunset time lapses well. I wish there was a way to ramp the shutter speed but at least it can adjust exposure over time or lock exposure if desired.
Just downloaded to catch our “record snowfall” and I tried everything to get the app going but when I set up phone on tripod the image in the video just jumps around like there’s an earthquake. Nice.
Biggest reason I use this app to get time lapse in 4k … iPhone’s time lapse only do 1080p. Also this app have so many useful features! Love it!
Kudos on making a really great app that still supports old devices. I have a ton of old iPhones and while their video functions pale compared to their modern counterparts, the still cameras can still spit out greater-than-HD timelapses at short intervals with this app. I can have 4 angle coverage of any event!
It has plenty of options not available on the native camera app for time-lapse. However I am disappointed that it has no bluetooth remote shutter support, and the UI is pretty uninspired. Also it’s been dead for about 3 yrs now.
I don't own an action camera (only an older iPhone 5 SE) but I wanted to time lapse myself setting up my studio gear for 8 hours. This app was perfect in every way - easy to use, 4K exports (after in-app purchase), and I could set the duration that I wanted. It even allowed me to make edits after the recording. Get this app, it's the best one in store.
Love this app, but I can’t find a way to shoot in a vertical orientation. Is this possible?
If I could rate 10 stars I could. Sky Flow is so much fun to use and explore the various settings/tools, especially as a novice photographer. The only thing I wish it had was a way to see the internal file size of individual time lapses as well as an ability to duplicate them so that I can trim the same lapse in multiple ways. Anyways, I cannot recommend this enough and the paid version for a few bucks is totally worth it!
I have had a good experience with this app. Time lapse pro was my app of choice. This app has it beat hands down. I have one problem with it. I purchased it so it is totally unlocked. I put it on my iPhone and an iPod Touch. The app works good on both. I installed it on an older iPad and it’s like I haven’t paid for it. It shows a watermark and a lower resolution. I would like to use this app on the iPad to not tie up my phone for long periods. I give it 4.5 stars even though it doesn’t work fully on the iPad. Treefrog56
This app works and it is great, but the fact that shutter speed does not go higher than 1/1000 s makes it very hard to do timelapse in bright days and night to day transitions! It is very weird why shutter speed is limited in Skyflow while in other third party apps it goes as high as 1/8000 s.
I filled my phone with a file - about 6GB. I then deleted the file and I have no free space on my phone. I rebooted the phone and still it’s full. I deleted the app and it’s now got 6GB free space. I think I’ll leave it that way. Good luck. Plus wouldn’t it be nice if it could write directly to an attached storage card?
I used to use Lapse-It Pro, but once they upgraded that app it became totally worthless, and I switched to Skyflow, and I’m very happy I made the switch! It seldom crashes, even after shooting an all day time-lapse, I come back and it’s still shooting. I’ve been able to capture great storms and sunsets for example, and after thousands of frames it’s still recording, while the other apps usually crash after a thousand frames or less. Once I figured out the settings, I now get perfect videos every time :-)
After leaving a 1* review because of no update for a long time, developer’s response is that a new release is in the pipeline. I’m very happy and eager to try it out. @dev thank you for the response and working hard to make it happen!
If nothing else when you pay for an app you expect it not to have ads. I deleted it immediately from my phone when I saw you had to pay an additional $.99 to remove the ads and the watermark.
I’ll find another app
Good maybe better on Android
I just found out they added the ultrawide lense on the iPhone 12 max. Sweet!
This makes time lapses easy! I do wish you could turn off all the noises, though. I can’t leave it running all night looking out the window because it makes too much noise.
Solid app. Has all the features you’d expect for a decent time lapse software. Beware though that you need the paid version. Relatively inexpensive so definitely worth it, but can’t use the free version because they put a watermark on your videos when you export them (kind of cheesy if you ask me but so be it). For a few dollars it’s worth it but can only give 3 stars for them adding something that’s in my opinion a little gimmicky that they use to force you to buy the paid version.
Would love to see layout updated for iPhone 12 Pro
Pausing a time lapse starts a new lapse upon restart. No way to stitch them back together again. Also lack of audio overlay makes this not a match for my needs. It’s very nice at what it does do though, it takes time lapses.
I have trouble purchasing full version because screen rotation interferes with keyboard (app screen is horizontal, keyboard for entering App Store password is vertical)
Great app, although the file sizes can really eat up at your storage. Can you please develop integration with cloud back up into Google Drive?
Although the time lapse on the iPhone is fun and relatively good quality, it is nothing compared to what this app does for it! Brings the full potential of iPhone time lapse to the user! With a great many technical options, as well as preset options. Breathtaking eye candy! It is a wonderful and mysterious world, with this app you will capture it in stunning 4K! Blown away every time I use it!
This does just what you’d expect. Easy to set up and record. I used this to record my house having new siding installed. The results were awesome. Just keep in mind, each frame is a high res pic so each sequence can be very large.
awesome app! love
I tried a couple of other time-lapse apps with good reviews, but this app is much superior. It has the features and the capacity for taking long time-lapse videos. I tried the free version, but soon upgraded to full version. The developers have done a great job and I appreciate that.
A good time-lapse app, but would be nice, if it had a long exposure/motion blur feature. RŌV app is good at that and new version of Moment app has a great time-lapse capabilities, including motion blur and exposure bracketing (which is also very nice to have)...
